Meet Our Pastor

Fr. Haig Chahinian is an Armenian Catholic priest who serves as the Parish Priest of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Catholic Church in Toronto. Ordained to the priesthood for the Armenian Catholic Eparchy of Our Lady of Nareg in Canada and the United States, Fr. Haig is a shepherd deeply committed to the spiritual care of the Armenian Catholic faithful in Toronto and to the broader Catholic community.

Fr. Haig brings to his pastoral ministry a rich formation in Armenian Catholic theology, Eastern Christian spirituality, and a deep love for the liturgical tradition of the Armenian Church. His homilies draw on Scripture, the Fathers of the Church, and the distinctive theological heritage of the Armenian Catholic tradition.

In addition to his parish ministry, Fr. Haig is engaged in graduate theological studies, deepening his understanding of the tradition he serves. He is available to parishioners for spiritual direction, pastoral counselling, and the celebration of the Sacraments.

Salt + Light Catholic Media Foundation

Fr. Haig also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Salt + Light Catholic Media Foundation, Canada's national Catholic television and media organization. Salt + Light exists to evangelise through the media — bringing the Gospel to Canadians through television, digital platforms, and content that illuminates the beauty of the Catholic faith.

In this role, Fr. Haig carries forward the vision that good Catholic media — produced with excellence, creativity, and fidelity — can reach hearts that parish walls alone cannot. His work at Salt + Light and his pastoral ministry at St. Gregory the Illuminator are, in his own words, two expressions of the same call: to bring the light of faith to the world.
